Read out fault memory
Prerequisites:
  • Vehicle at standstill
  • Turn system selector switch to EDC (2) position (see electrical key)
  • Drive switch on (drive switch to step 2, drive position)
Fault output via EDC fault lights (yellow):
  • Press check key (red) for at least two seconds (EDC control lights come on while key is pressed).
Notes:
  • The fault memory can be read out while the engine is at a standstill or while it is running.
  • The diagnostics always output one fault only. To find out whether a number of faults are stored, the fault code output must be repeated until the fault which was displayed first reappears.

Example of a flashing code output (EDC fault lights)
0 EDC fault lights off
1 EDC fault lights on
2 two long flashes
3 three short flashes
meaning of this flashing code (two long, three short): "CAN signal gearbox control unit"

Clear fault memory
  • Press and hold down the check key with the drive switch at off,
  • Switch on the drive switch (step 2, drive position),
  • release the check key after three seconds (do not hold it down for more than ten seconds)
Note: The check key only clears the flash codes fault memory, the faults can still be read out for MAN-cats.
