Read out fault memory
Prerequisites:
  • Vehicle at standstill
  • Turn system selector switch to ABS position (see electrical key)
  • Drive switch off and on again = Reset (drive switch to step 2, drive position)
  • For vehicles with ASR press the brake pedal once. This turns the yellow ASR info lights off.
  • Wait at least two seconds.
Fault output via red ABS warning light:
  • Hold down check key (red) for at least two seconds.
Notes:
  • The fault output, in the form of a flash code, begins one second after the check key is released. Each fault is output in two blocks which are separated from one another by a pause (approx. 1.5 seconds). Flashing pauses for approximately 4.5 seconds before the next fault is output.
  • If a number of faults is stored, then these will be output in the reverse order in which they occurred, (the most recent fault is output first).

An example of the flashing sequence structure (red ABS warning light):
0 ABS warning light off
1 ABS warning light on
2 Hold down the check key for at least 2 seconds
3 ABS light off for one second (pause until the first block)
4 first number of the first fault (block 1)
5 1.5 seconds pause
6 second number of the first fault (block 2)
7 4.5 seconds pause
8 next error (if applicable)
This example shows a fault code 4-2 for the first fault output.
